Young Justice: Invasion- Ep. 3- "Salvage" Review

I didn't think this episode, "Salvage" would top last week's episode. But it easily did. So many revelations in this episode. I LOVED this episode.

Ever since "Invasion" started, fans have been tearing the timeskip apart, because 4 of the recurring cast members, Wally, Artemis, Roy, and Kaldur, were absent from the season Priemere.

So, now, with this episode, we know what happened to Wally and Artemis. Wally is now retired from the superhero business and he also lives with Artemis. I'm really glad Spitfire unlike the ill-fated "Supermartian" ship (didn't even like the Supermartian pairing that much anyway.) But boy, Wally has matured even more. I can't wait to see him again in episode 6.

The whole B-plot was about Roy, which we learned an important twist. At the end, Cheshire, reveals she is married to Roy and they have a child, Lian. Hopefully they don't mindlessly kill her off, I'm lookin at you, DC. It is also revealed that Guardian is Jim Harper's clone. I wonder what happened to Cadmus, after The Light attacked them. Hopefully we will find out soon.

Now the A-plot was just as interesting. We got some nice development with Blue Beetle. I'll say it, Blue Beetle is my favorite new member. I find him more enjoyable than Batman The Brave and the Bold's incarnation of him. It was also revealed that Ted Kord exists on Earth-16. But was killed off by the Light. And also, we now know who The Light's new partner is, it is indeed, The Reach (the alien race that created the Scarab) The Light killing off Ted Kord was obviously a plot orchestrated by the Reach to get the Scarab back. Also, I loved the Blue Beetle/Superboy interaction.

Sportsmaster was also in this episode. But he was just assisting the partner. Intergang was pretty much the main villain, but damn. Is Miss Martian STILL mindwiping? Jeez, or was it Sportsmaster punishing them for interfering with their operation? Or was Miss Martian in cahoots with Sportsmaster?

Anyways, really good episode. I loves it. Also saw the preview for next week's episode. Batgirl, Wonder Girl, Miss Martian, and Bumblebee are fighting the Fearsome Five, in Biayla. Queen Bee is in Biayla, and she killed Gar's mom. And Miss Martian is also going to Biayla. This will not end well.

Young Justice: Invasion- Ep. 3 "Alienated" Review

It really pays off to have faith in Weisman and Vietti. "Happy New Year" was not that great, "Earthlings", I liked, but, this episode "Alienated", truly knocked it out of the park.

This episode had a huge revelation about one of the missing members, Aqualad. Many saw this coming, but Aqualad has turned evil! (Or so we think) Aqualad probably had the short end of the stick last season when it comes to character development. But Weisman and co seem to be setting up a important character arc for him this season. Hopefully he's a double agent or he will reform sometime this season. But Kaldur's character just got a billion times more interesting. Also Nightwing, Superboy, and Lagoon Boy confronting Aqualad is probably my favorite scene this season so far.

But you could also understand why he turned evil, the girl he loved ditched for his best friend, The Team blew him away back in "Alpha Male". And Tula is dead now. Life must suck for poor Kaldur. Also now, because of this episode, we now know who falls and dies on the YJ Videogame.

This episode answered questions bit also raised new ones. Sometime in the episode, a shadowy figure planted an alien bomb. But who was it? The Light and Black Manta seem to be talking about a new partner. They're a new partner, so they can't be Apokiliptan. I'm betting my money on the Reach (Where Blue Beetle's scarab originated from) or the White Martians. But time will tell.

Also we had the anwser to what happened during the 16 hours. Now 8 of some of the League's heavy hitters are going on trial on Rimbor. This not will not end well. But I liked the Team's goodbyes to the League.

Superman also gave Conner a Kryptonian name, Kon-El, and he also called him "little brother". I guess Superman technically still dosen't want to be Conner's dad, interesting.

Great episode! "Invasion" has finally hit it's stride!

5/5

But god I cannot wait next for week, spoilers had revealed what will happen next week. So pumped.

Young Justice: Invasion- Ep. 2 "Earthlings" Review

Well, in Weisman (and Vietti) I trust.

This was a huge step up from Invasion's incredibly lackluster season Priemere. I liked this episode a lot.

This episode was very character focused, we had some nice reveals about Superboy, M'Gann, and Beast Boy.

I really enjoyed Adam Strange here, he was a fun character. Rann was a neat setting, it had a nice jungle type to it.

The real meat of this episode was Superboy/M'Gann. In a nice plot twist, we find out that Conner is actually the one that broke up with M'Gann, with reasons left unknown. But the ending makes it makes it fairly clear why the broke up...more on that in a bit.

I enjoyed Beast Boy, he was a fun comedy relief character, he reminded me a lot of Wally. But we also had a tragic revelation about Gar, his mom was killed by Queen Bee. Heh, more like Queen Bi***. Poor Gar :(

But oh man that ending, was just phenomenal. M'Gann just pretty much mind wipes a defenseless Krolotean, exposing her murderous side. M'Gann has became one of the more interesting characters of this show, and Superboy obviously broke up her because of the mind wiping. M'Gann also knows what happened during those missing 16 hours. Can't wait to see where this goes.

Anyways, great episode. 4/5
